Why You’re Failing at fed officials trading draws fuels calls

The Federal Trade Commission has issued a formal warning against two companies that allegedly traded in personal financial information for the purpose of drawing more than $3.2 million in bonuses. The FTC alleges that the companies, The Money Store and The Money Man, violated federal law by using the customers’ personal information to manipulate the stock price.

The FTC’s complaint is a bit surprising especially since the data used in the company trade is publicly available and available through the usual free market places. Nevertheless, the complaint has already been sent to the two companies, and I’m sure the FTC will look into it.

In a similar vein, a few of the other scandals the FTC has investigated include the company that buys and sells the names and addresses of consumers in order to build its databases, and the company that sells the names and addresses of consumers in order to sell its products. These two companies are a bit less blatant in their use of the personal information, but still have problems with it.

Of course, all of these companies still claim to be doing good business. They claim to have a legitimate business model, but they are still using the personal information of their customers to build their databases. It’s the same old same old.

If the government or the big corporations are using your personal information for business purposes, how can you trust them? You can’t, and this is why you should always be looking for companies that are not selling anything.

Well, that sounds like a perfect time to start building your own personal database. It is absolutely possible to create a personal database that will work for you. Here are our 3 best tips on how to do it.

1. Create a Google Account. This is the hardest part. Many companies take you for a cup of coffee, ask you to sign up for a new account, and then do all the paperwork for you. They have even gone so far as to ask you to give them your email address. So you, the person that should be handling this for you, are going to have to go back to Google and give their information to them.

But we’re not just talking about the “fling” of email addresses here. As we discussed in our last episode, Google has a “frictionless” feature that will automatically generate an account for you. If you’re not willing to go through all the paperwork, then you should seriously consider creating a Google Account. The easiest way to do this is to use Google’s free “sign-up” box.

After you click “create an account,” you will be asked to choose from a bunch of questions about your interests. The “portfolio” and “career” questions for example, will ask you about the things you do most often, and the “travel” questions will ask you about the places you go and what you do. These are questions you could write an email to, so that they can have your information.

The other option you could go with, is to use Google Drive. There are several different ways to use Drive, but the simplest is probably the best. Just create a blank document, and save it in the Drive folder called “public”. Make it a document called “public-mycar”. Then when you click “save”, you will see a message asking you to confirm your creation. This is a good thing.
